Top Of The Feed
If you’ve been following my journey, you know I left my role as Head of Influencer Marketing at PepsiCo this spring to focus full-time on building my ventures under Real Social LLC. But today’s note isn’t about that kind of exit. It’s about the quieter pivots creators & strategists can make towards their goals.
I left Substack. And moved to beehiiv.
Since 2023, www.getsocialfeed.com has been living on Substack. And despite my inconsistency in posting, you all showed tremendous interest! To me, that was always a signal to prioritize this newsletter not only as an outlet for my work, but as another meaningful way to connect.
Because as algorithms tighten and platforms get noisier, a newsletter isn’t just a place to publish. It’s a hub. A direct line from me to you. A space to cut through the clutter and dig deeper into strategy, storytelling, and the future of equitable influence.
The bigger picture? More creators are building newsletters, media companies, and businesses that live outside traditional feeds. Because real influence doesn’t just trend. It sustains. And it sustains where you own the connection.
Yes, I’m aware of Substack’s recent (and very notable) fundraise. But I also noticed many of my peers, especially on LinkedIn, leaning into beehiiv. After exploring, I realized its structure, templates, and analytics might be personally helpful in building the consistency I’ve been aiming for. So with the assistance of beehiiv’s partner Tinker Solution, here we are.
And to be clear, I still have love for Substack. It’s an incredible platform that has opened doors for so many creators, myself included. Who knows—one day I may use it again for a different project. But for now, this feels like the right place to grow and invest in our community.
So, welcome to the newly revamped Social Feed!

Food For Thought
Platform ≠ Ownership
Having reach isn’t the same as having control. Your posts might rack up likes, but the algorithm decides who sees them (as I’m sure we all know…), how far they go, and whether your work even matters tomorrow.
That isn’t ownership. That’s dependency.
Ownership begins when you take your audience off borrowed land and into spaces you control.
The newsletter. The community. The infrastructure.
So ask yourself: are you renting attention or are you building an asset?
Worth The Click
There have been some amazing people in my network to learn from when it comes to approaching this game of online content as a true business. Check out a few of the pages that inspire me online and certainly put beehiiv on my radar:
1. Creator Economy NYC (by Brett Dashevsky)
Creator Economy NYC brings together people from every corner of the creator world with open events and resources that often double as education and connection.
2. Content to Commas (by Brandon Smithwrick)
Content to Commas is a weekly playbook for creator-preneurs who think like CEOs—offering practical content systems, strategy-driven frameworks, and business-minded insights.
3. Goodknight Operations (by Tara Knight)
Goodknight Operations, written by Tara Knight of Creator Match (a LinkedIn creator marketing platform & agency), shares the systems and strategies creators need to scale sustainably.
Behind The Feed
In addition to the newsletter, some other things have also evolved. We’ve now formally expanded the company into four formal ventures:
Social Feed: Amplifying Black influencers through online storytelling, amplification & shared resources.
Social Setting: Bringing brand leaders and Black influencers together through curated experiences.
Social Consult: Delivering culture-led influencer marketing strategies for startups & enterprises.
Social Talent: Partnering with marquee influencers to elevate their brand and maximize impact via ventures they lead and own.
The past few months have included a serious infrastructure exercise on what the future of marketing & advocacy work could look like, and it’s really exciting to see it come together so beautifully.
There was also a fun brand refresh with new logos and colors. Shoutout to my amazing designer Lex, founder of THE MHUESEUM, whose partnership and design have been instrumental in shaping our visual identity at this early stage.
